As it is an automobile site, I think I have some additional information to share with u all. Nowadays Airbags That Help Stop Cars, Augmented Reality Dashboards, Cars That Communicate With Each Other & The Road, Energy-storing Body Panels, Hybrid Vehicles and Self-driving Cars are all future technologies of Car World/Automobile World, which seems to be not more than a dream. However two of them had been already turned into reality, which are Hybrid Vehicles and Self-driving Cars. What is your opinion about others?

As for Airbags That Help Stop Cars, what gives this kind of airbag potential as a future technology is that it uses existing vehicle safety systems. Although Mercedes has been working on this technology for several years, it isn't available on any production models yet and may not be seen on the road for another few years...:(

Yes, and it would also be interesting to see how insurance companies handle liability and other issues when there is no driver involved. self-driving cars and drone technology, really looking forward to these two in the future.

Self Driving feature is an exiting concept, but for this the roads and the connectivity in cities and outside cities should be strong. It seems to be a strong concept. But the dangers of car theft, error in driving due to communication gap, Accidents and other mishaps are quiet possible.
But with time technology has always won over human, lets cross our fingers over this too.

The future technologies to be implemented in car includes the

1. Autonomous vehicle: The car could drive anywhere with out human oversight. By 2020 we will have cars capable of fully autonomous.

2. Driver override systems: The car actively disregards your commands and makes its own decisions. But by 2020 cars will apply the brakes even if the driver has the gas pedal floored. The rapid increase in sensor technology will force a shift in priority, giving the car final say it’s not you.

3. Biometric vehicle Access: You'll be able to unlock and start your car without anything more than your fingerprint.

4. Reconfigurable Body Panels : A truck and SUV in one vehicle. It could happen.

5. Smart/Personalized In-Car Marketing: Get ready to receive personalized, location-based ads in your car's display.

6. Four-Cylinder Supercar: By 2020 we'll see the first full-fledged, 200-plus mph supercar with a four-cylinder engine.

7. ActiveHealthMonitoring : You own a car that can pull over and call paramedics when the driver has a heart attack.
8. Active Window Displays : By 2020 we'll see active glass capable of displaying vibrant images. Think of a navigation system that actually highlights the next turn perspective, through as you approach it.

Mahmoodi Makrani has tried and been successful in 2012 in turning his Maruti 800 in a car running on water. You must check out this
to know more .It is in Hindi though. This show was aired on History TV 18 some 6-7 months back. I could not resist from sharing this.

In the competition to find alternatives to petrol and gasoline; an Indian has won the race. He has even filed the patent over this technique of running the vehicle on water. And this is not it, he has even programmed his car to be driven by mobile.
