i've been watching all these films about u.s. money, and how the federal reserve basically prints it out of thin air
so the question: why is it illegal to counterfeit money?
other than it's just a written law, aren't the counterfeiters doing exactly the same thing as the federal reserve?
same goes for all other countries that use fiat money that is backed by nothing - why is it illegal to print that money on your own?
