I just tested for and received my license. However, I did this just to get it done and have no real interest in driving. I have no car and would rarely drive my parent's. Yet, the insurance company is claiming that I need to be insured simply because I have a license. I can understand requiring insurance if I'm driving my own car, or even my parent's, but they want to charge me a full policy so I said I just won't drive. However, they say its the law and I MUST have a policy. I haven't heard of this in Driver's Ed, at the DMV, nor did the company claim this before I got my license. Can anyone inform me if this is a legitimate claim, and point me in the direction of a statute?
