HI, I own a 1992 toyota paseo with automatic transmission and 4 cylinder engine. The car has 114,000 miles on it, but it has never given me any problems before, never!! Thing is, I had my cars rear main seal redone for a leak, and the transmission had to be removed to fix that. The mechanic must have messed something up, because when I picked up my car, I noticed the car was very jumpy when going into first and second gear. I took it back, and they adjusted the cable near the throttle body with two wrenches, but it didnt fix it. Now, the guy says it is cuz of a bad transmission. how can that be, my transmission was running perfect. I moved away for a neew job about 200 miles away, so I had to deal with this problem, but it is bugging me, waht could be the cause?

Sorry to hear what your going through, people don't realize it but car problems can be stressful at times. Basically what happened is they messed up your transmission. It's too good of a coincidence to be that. Transmission is a very sensitive part. Most mechanics don't know how to fix them all they know is to replace them. There are people that specialize in transmission but they too can be tricky. You can keep fighting with them but it's going to be a hard fight and you'll probably just give up. Those people are a bunch of a$$#@!&$. Again you can get a lawyer and go from there but the only thing you can do is take somewhere else who can try to fix it, get a new transmission, and/or drive it like that until it breaks. Sorry, Best of luck to you!
