This concept shows how carbon fiber and plastic can slash mass to just a third that of the Prius. With a hybrid drivetrain using a gasoline engine that is also one third the size of the Prius's, Toyota says the 1/X gets triple the gas mileage. The company fails to mention that the car is just a little bigger than a golf cart, which certainly helps explain the astronomical fuel economy.
