1. Honda/Acura Help. This thread was started by someone who admits to being “new” to the car scene and needs help decided on his next purchase. With their eyes set on an Acura, fuel mileage and elegance is obviously in mind for this poster. Granted, there are plenty of different models out their, but for optimal fuel mileage, a buyer should stick with the four-cylinder Acuras.
With a budget of 6 to 10 thousand dollars, a nice RSX or Integra could be had. These are the most compact and lightest of the Acuras and thus, produce the highest miles per gallon. The RSX was introduced in 2002 and has had a 2.0 liter (K20) four ever since. Horsepower can be anywhere from 160 to 210 depending on year and model and transmissions were 5 speed automatics/manuals as well as a 6 speed manual.
The Integra was what the RSX replaced and production ended in 2001. These have so many different variants you’d need to use your toes to count them all but they all exceed 25 mpg. The difficult part in looking for a used Integra is finding one that hasn’t already been modified by the previous owner. Of course, the later models will be (usually) in better shape.

2. Daily Driving a Boxster or Cayman? A never-ending question regarding sports cars will always be “can a person comfortably use them everyday?” According to the posters in this thread, a Porsche is exceptionally good at doing just this. The 911, Boxster and Cayman are all marketed this way by Porsche themselves: so much so that Porsche’s new advertisement flaunts a yellow 911 as being a metaphorical “school bus”. With efficient six cylinders and numerous safety features, Porsches are actually able to achieve solid fuel mileage (911s will can get 22 mpg in the city) and last the test of time. If this writer was to own any Porsche, be it a 911 or Boxster, you can rest assured it would be used everyday.
