Ford holds the crown for police cruiser supremacy with the venerable Crown Vic, but with that model having been discontinued, Ford is doing all in its power to keep its blue-light customers. To try and keep the boys in uniform buying from Dearborn the new Police Interceptor sedan has been given a power boost.

Any municipality who wants a more powerful engine than the base 3.5 V6, but doesn’t feel like stepping up to the EcoBoost, can opt for a 3.7-liter V6. This engine was once only available in the Explorer based cruiser, but now the sedan can take advantage of the 305 horsepower and 279 lb/ft of torque offered by the larger mill. This new engine adds more economy to the higher horsepower rating with an estimated 25 hwy/18 city/21 combined fuel economy rating.

With the new engine we feel that even more sirens are going to be paired with Ford emblems. Start memorizing that headlight profile, people.
