Each year, the editors at Connected World magazine take into account new car models to determine which one puts technology to use in such a way that it can be called “Connected Car of The Year.” Three major deciding factors go into play to figure out a winner: safety, convenience and information options. Fitted with both MyFord Touch and SYNC technologies, the Ford Focus earned the award for the 2012 model year for packing numerous pieces of innovative and easy to use technologies into an inexpensive and compact size.
“The Ford Focus sets a high bar in the small category when it comes to connectivity with MyFord Touch and SYNC,” said Peggy Smedley, editorial director, Connected World magazine. In order for a top spot to be hand, a car must flaunt its innovative features in a safe manner. SYNC allows for hands free voice commands for practically every aspect of the Focus’s operations. The Ford was recognized as well for being convenient to a driver with remote start, vehicle diagnostics and navigation with real time traffic. MyFord Touch played a big roll in the car’s win too as it allows for a different type of operation. “They just keep getting better and better. No other car in its class comes close to offering such a high level of safety, convenience and infotainment. Techies and non-techies alike are enjoying this connected ride.”
