The Shelby GT350 may be the greatest factory Mustang ever built, but that doesn’t mean there is not a bit of room for improvement. After a years’ worth of sales and customer feedback, Ford is making a handful of changes to the 2017 model. The first big change is the Track Package. This package adds chassis stiffening, better cooling to vital parts of the drivetrain, and some extra downforce goodies. It was optional in 2016, but for the new car, Ford is making it standard across the board. Ford is also bringing in two new packages that are designed to make the car more comfortable.

The Electronics package adds an upgraded stereo with Sync capability, and you can take the convenience package that gets rid of the Recaro seats in favor of more traditional leather-trimmed buckets. But you should never order this package. Ever. Getting rid of the Recaros should be a crime punishable by law. This is still a track-ready car after all, folks.

As cool as the new options may seem to some of you, and as great as it is to hear the Track Pack is now standard, the real highlight for buyers who waited until 2017 will be the availability of three new colors. The first two colors include Ruby Red Metallic and Lightning Blue, but the star of the show is the return of Ford’s greatest factory color, Grabber Blue.

That color alone makes me want to buy a GT350. At that point the flat-plane crank V8 is just icing on the cake. Thank you for bringing back this wonderful color for such an amazing car.
