To celebrate the first truly global performance car to come out of Ford Motor Company, the American public will get a special opportunity to get to know the Focus ST. Through the summer, Ford will be touring the nation with the turbocharged hot hatch so that fans and speed freaks alike can put the new car to the test. At each stop, a full event will showcase the ST in more ways than one as an instructional, high-performance driving stint and timed autocross will take place.
“We want ST fans, as well as drivers of competitive vehicles, to be able to taste this car firsthand,” said Lisa Schoder, Ford Focus ST Marketing manager. The tour starts on June 30 and has five stops along the way. Each event will be open all day where a fleet of Focus STs will be available for evaluations. Driver training, road course runs, timed competition and autocross hot laps will offered at each leg. With a single turbocharger, direct injection and 252 horsepower, the ST truly is a hot-rod bargain given its $23,700 starting price.
Pre-registration for the tour is currently open. Each event will open at 9 a.m and run until 6 p.m. the same day. Being apart of the EcoBoosted fun is limited however and will be acknowledged on a first-registered, first-served basis. The five stops are listed below.
