Ford Motor is recalling about 23,800 cars with push-button starts because the vehicles do not make a sound when the driver’s door is open, reports The Detroit News.

The company said it will modify software on the 23,831 Focus Electric and C-Max vehicles so that the vehicles will make an “audible door chime” if the driver’s door is open while the push-button start is engaged.

The recall affects model year 2012 and 2013 Focus EVs and 2013 C-Max hybrid and plug-in vehicles that were manufactured at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne. About 22,900 of the vehicles are located in the U.S. and another 900 or so are in Canada.
