Ford has officially had four cars accepted for its LeMans entry in this year’s 24 hour endurance race. The Ford GTs first tackled the track at the Daytona race that we just covered, but the big test for the new sports car will be in France this summer. The car has been built, and is being entered to celebrate Ford’s 50-year anniversary of winning LeMans with the original GT40. Ford took the checkered flag for four years in a row, 1966-1969. To celebrate that milestone, Ford’s four GT racers will be wearing the numbers 66, 67, 68 and 69.

Being a new competitor for the year, Ford was not guaranteed a spot on the field, so it’s a great relief to the racing teams that all four competing cars have been accepted by the ACO to participate in this year’s running of the 24 Hours of LeMans. The race will take place from June 18-19.

Ford has yet to release full driver lineups, so we will have more info for you guys later regarding that. Just keep it locked here on AutoTalk.com. In the meantime, be sure to check out the Ford GT and the other various racers that were at the Rolex 24 in Daytona in our full gallery below. We have dozens and dozens of great shots for you to enjoy.
