Ford of Europe have teamed up with Instagram and Facebook to create the very first Fiestagram photo competition. Putting an emphasis on one of the best selling small cars in Europe, the competition asks Instagram enthusiasts to show off what makes the Ford Fiesta a special ride. The contest is split into several categories, each one putting importance on a certain aspect of the car. If a iPhone owner can use the Instagram photo filter/sharing program to best showcase these features, they could win prizes that include an all-new Fiesta.

“We wanted to run a competition which would resonate with our Fiesta Facebook fans and the wider Instagram community,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe. “Instagram has grown from nothing to 150 million photos in just nine months and we are looking forward to the participants in the Fiestagram Photo Competition contributing their creativity to the 1.3 million Instagram images uploaded per day.”

Instagram is a free iPhone application that offers numerous filters for photos to give almost any wanted feel. Once the pictures are snapped, they can be uploaded to the Instagram network and or Facebook. The contest’s progress will also be tracked on Ford’s Facebook page. The categories are split to include Starting (power button), Hidden (back-up camera), Listening (Bluetooth), Entry (keyless), Music (stereo), and Shapes (fuel cap). Even though Ford has offered suggestions for the categories, contestants are given free will to interpret them any way they see fit. Fiestagram starts today and the contest will be judged by a pre-selected panel of judges.
