Following the completion of the merger, Fiat and Chrysler have become Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCA), The Detroit News reports.
The new company will be headquartered in the Netherlands.
On Wednesday, the company’s board of directors announced the new name as part of a comprehensive restructuring of the two automakers.
The company’s shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange and the Mercato Telematico Azionario in Milan.
“A new chapter of our story begins with the creation of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles,” John Elkann, chairman of Fiat, said in a statement.
“A journey that started over a decade ago, as Fiat sought to ensure its place in an increasingly complex marketplace, has brought together two organizations each with a great history in the automotive industry and different but complementary geographic strengths.”
