It seems like the days of “Fix it again, Tony” are finally gone for Fiat. After decades of terrible quality issues back in the 70s helped to tank the brand in the States, the Italian company strikes back with a powerful statement about reliability. J.D. Power just named the Fiat 500 as the most dependable car in its class.
More than 33,000 owners of 2013 Fiat 500s were questioned about the history and problems of their particular car, and on the whole the little Cinquecento exhibited fewer problems and issues that its various competitors. The tiny coupe is already a wonderful thing to drive, and it looks phenomenal, so its nice to see that it can stick a reliability feather in its cap as well.
No word on if that same dependability transfers over to the Abarth model as well, but I sure hope it does. That little rocket is one of my favorite machines on sale today, and knowing that it is as reliable as it is fun would make me very happy.
Just confirning what the owners know. This is a great car that is fun to own, and doesn’t give you any problems.
I’ve had my Fiat 500 Pop since Feb 2012 and drive the hell out of it! It’s been the funnest car I’ve ever had to drive and I’ve had ZERO problems with it! :)
