Ferrari makes some of the most incredible cars on this planet, but even such machinery can be improved. Ferrari understands this fact as well as anyone, and is bringing some new hardware to the Geneva International Auto Show. Aside from the all-new Ferrari F620, the boys and girls from Maranello are arriving with an upgraded Ferrari California.

The cheapest of the Prancing Horses has seen a host of improvements designed to improve the already wonderful convertible. First on the list is a new exhaust manifold and an ECU tweak, upping the cars horsepower by thirty, from 460 to 490. Advancements in Ferrari’s aluminum manufacturing have yielded a 66-lb wight reduction. This combination of more power-less weight has produced 0-100 kmh (62 mph) run of 3.8 seconds.

To make sure that extra speed can be contained, Ferrari is also offering a new Handling Speciale package that includes magnetorheological dampers, much like what was offered on the 599 GTB Fiorano. The new suspension also nets drivers a quicker steering ratio and stiffer springs.

While we wait for the full set of photos from the Geneva debut, check out our gallery of the current California below.
