Soon enough, the North American public will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a Mopar icon. As Dodge gets closer and closer to the release of the all-new, 2013 Dart, the compact car market is getting ready for another heavy-hitting challenger. Like the namesake from half a decade ago, the upcoming car is looking to offer innovation, performance, quality, enjoyment and value. The later comes by way of a recently announced base MSRP of just $15,995.
When the Dart starts to hit dealership floors in June of this year, there will be five trim levels offered. The base car, the SE, will come with standard features such as projector headlamps, LED tail lights, 10 air bags and power windows. Under the hood will be the all-new, Tigershark 2.0 liter inline four cylinder engine which will be matched to a standard six speed manual or optional six speed automatic. Spinning the front wheels will be a class-leading 160 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. In order to get the middle-range, 1.4 liter turbocharged MultiAir engine, the Dart must first be fitted out as a middle-range Rallye, which starts at $18,995. The most expensive Dart, the third quarter available R/T, will start at $22495 and will be powered by the 2.4 liter Tigershark MultiAir 2 inline four cylinder. With that, 184 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque can be feed through the six speed manual or automatic. Features such as 18 inch wheels, sport suspension, unique body work, heated leather seats, dual-zone climate control, heated steering wheel as well as 8.4 inch Uconnect touch screen media controller will be offered on the R/T.
“The all-new Dodge Dart is a groundbreaking car, offering features and benefits never before found in a compact car,” said Reid Bigland, President and CEO, Dodge Brand. The fully base pricing list for all five trim levels is below.
