The “rebirth” of Chrysler LLC hasn’t only affected the USA and Europe but South Africa as well. Chrysler’s in-house tuning shop, Mopar, has given some special tweaks to the multi-purpose small car the Caliber. This South African special has been specifically modified for the niche market and gives the some-what dull Caliber a little bit of aggression.
“Chrysler has identified with a specific market niche – a group of drivers that have a passion for performance hatchbacks. To address this need, we have delivered the racy Dodge Caliber Mopar Edition which we believe will go a long way to satisfy the ‘boy racer’ in all of us,” said Guy Franken, Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Chrysler South Africa.
The Caliber Mopar Edition begins life as a 2.0 liter, manual transmission model and gets Mopar bolt-ons such as: cold-air intake, free-flow exhaust manifold and piping, 18″ wheels, 2″ lowering springs, special aero kit and Mopar decals galore.
