Porsche has put out its fair share of “shock-and-awe” vehicles lately and it might just continue on with the trend. A rumor has it that in the near future, there might be a four door hybrid that can be plugged in for charging and it won’t be a compact, Japanese sedan. Instead, it will be born from a racing heritage so deep that a book shelf worth of books has been written in its honor. The automotive industry was already shocked to see a four door Porsche and then the automaker upped the ante by introducing a hybrid version. Soon, they might just cause world-wide fainting when they pull the covers off of the Panamera Plug-in Hybrid.

According to Car and Driver Magazine, a Porsche source made talks about a plug-in version of the hot-rod hybrid four door hitting the market in 2013. Even though official word has yet to be said on the matter, the car is due for a midcycle face change. More than likely, the chargeable Panamera would use the same supercharged, Audi-sourced V6 found in the current S Hybrid. Speculations say that it might make more power than the standard car’s 380 horsepower however, thanks to the battery’s flexible intake as a plug-in.
