“Television’s Original Automotive Magazine”, MotoWeek, recently announced the winners of their annual “Driver’s Choice” awards and landing on the list were two of Chrysler’s ultimate people movers. Scoring a trophy for Best Large Utility were the Detroit made full size siblings, the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee. For the past 31 years, the editors of MotorWeek have embarked upon the task of determining which industry offering best represents their respective segment; not an easy task at all. For 2012, the Jefferson Avenue built trucks were recognized for their ability to blend real world use with actually driver involvement.

“Even though it’s still early in 2012, Dodge has already received more than a dozen awards across the line-up, demonstrating the strength of our products,” said Reid Bigland, President and CEO of Dodge. Having a connection between driver and vehicle may be the most deciding factor for MotorWeek, but the level-headed editors take numerous other aspects into consideration as well. The awards are determined with a consumer mind-set and take into account priorities such as value, reliability, industry trends and innovations. With a IIHS Top Safety Pick, best-in-class driving range with the Ward’s 10 Best winning Pentastar V6 and a near 50:50 weight distribution, the Durango is the type of full size SUV that honestly makes sense. Riding on the same chassis and using the same powertrains, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is rolling proof that comfort, efficiency and style can make it across any terrain the world has to offer.
