Chrysler will showcase a $500 million investment in its Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio, reports Mlive.com.
Toledo Assembly Complex is home of the Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler. The investment was made for production of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee.
Chrysler made a 260,000 square foot expansion of the plant’s body shop and a state-of-the-art, 26,000 square foot Metrology Center. As part of the investment, the automaker plans to add a second shift, or about 1,100 jobs, to the 3.9 million-square-foot facility.
The 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which replaces the Jeep Liberty, is scheduled to arrive in dealerships this quarter.
