Chrysler on Sept. 26 said it will resume production of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee next week at its Toledo Assembly Complex, reports The Detroit News.

The automaker recalled about 500 workers it idled at its Toledo complex. But the company said it could no longer guarantee that the all-new crossover will begin shipping by the end of the month, according to news report.

The Cherokee was originally supposed to be in showrooms by July, but its launch has been delayed — first by problems with fit and finish, then by issues with its new nine-speed transmission, the newspaper reported.
