With the crazy winter weather the United States has been having lately, Chrysler couldn’t have picked a better time to release the Glacier package for the 2013 Chrysler 300.

Outfitted with all-wheel-drive, an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, a more powerful 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 featuring a cold-air intake and sport-tuned exhaust, the 300 Glacier make a best-in-class 18/27 mpg while kicking out 300 horsepower. The venerable 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 is also available.

To aid the Glacier edition earn it’s name, it comes with Chrysler’s all-wheel-drive system. Acting something like a part-time four-wheel-drive system, the transfer case and front axle automatically connect when extra traction is needed, then seamlessly disconnects back into two-wheel-drive mode for standard driving conditions – all without driver inputs. Whenever traction isn’t an issue, 100 percent of the power is routed through the rear wheels in an effort to save fuel.

The Glacier package adds roughly $1500 over the standard 300S AWD sedan. Other upgrades include the Glacier Blue paint, special Satin Carbon colored 19-inch wheels, and unique interior upgrades like piano black accents on the center stack, instrument panel, steering wheel, and gauge cluster; along with black French-seamed stitching on the leather-wrapped seat bolsters.

The 300 Glacier edition joins Chrysler’s other “lifestyle” models such as the 300C John Varvatos Luxury Edition, the 300S with Beats by Dr. Dre, and of course, the 300 SRT8. The 2013 Chrysler 300 Glacier is already in dealerships for an MSRP of $36,845.
