Attention owners of 2012 Chevy Sonics, Cruzes or Buick Veranos. GM has issued a recall for a potentially dangerous airbag problem.
The driver side airbag has a shorting bar which may come in contact with the airbag terminals. If this intermittent contact occurs during a collision, the airbag may not deploy, causing serious injury to the driver. GM will notify owners of the potentially affected vehicles and will repair the problem free of charge. Nearly 3,000 units are suspected to be affected, so keep your eyes on your mailbox. If you have questions regarding this recall, you may contact GM directly at 1-800-521-7300.
