Chevrolet plans to display a redesigned 2016 Malibu later this month at the New York Auto Show.
The refreshed model will be longer and have more legroom. The four inches longer wheelbase will create more legroom and headroom in the back seat.
The new Malibu will be lighter than the current model. The car is expected to be 300 pounds lighter than its predecessor.
The current Malibu was not able to impress buyers. In February, the car’s sales fell 20% from a year earlier and dropped by 11.7% for the first two months of 2015.
