We knew it was coming for 2016, but now it’s official and we have pricing. This is the Duramax-equipped Colorado Canyon, and I think it’s probably going to become the best all-round truck you can buy. With a max towing capacity of 7,700 pounds, it can tow nearly as much as some V8 full-size trucks, and the 2.8-liter Duramax under the hood produces 369 pound-feet of torque, meaning the truck won’t be strained for power under such a load.
No word on fuel economy yet, sadly, but expect it to be very high.
The price for the Duramax is an added $3,730 over the cost of the gasoline truck. It can be ordered on LT and Z71 Crew Cab models only, but it can be ordered with either 2WD or 4WD. Choosing 4WD cuts your max tow rating by 100 pounds. Some factory extras that come with the new diesel motor include exhaust braking, Z82 trailering package, G80 locking rear differential and the 3.41 rear axle gearing.
You can head to your local dealer to talk about ordering now.
