It’s been a while since we featured a LEGO speed build here on AutoTalk.com, and I think it’s time to change that. Considering Monday was this great country’s Independence Day, why not feature a LEGO kit of America’s Sports Car, the Chevrolet Corvette.
The build is from the 2016 set of LEGO Speed Champions kits, so it matches the McLaren and various Ferrari builds we have featured in the past, but this particular kit features the 2016 Corvette Z06, the fastest and most powerful road-legal Corvette to ever roll out of the Bowling Green assembly plant.
The kit itself is modest, like the rest of the Speed Champions series. It features 173 pieces, takes about 15 minutes to assemble, and it only costs $15 to pick one up. Every Speed Champions set comes with a driver for the car, and some sort of track extra; the Z06 features a mounted video camera like you would see around pit row. To see how this little kit goes together, hit that play button.
