Cadillac has announced yesterday their best domestic monthly sales in 23 years. January numbers saw a sharp 47 percent increase thanks in large part to the new ATS sedan.
Cadillac’s hope of attracting new buyers to the brand with the ATS seems to be paying off. A massive 56 percent of ATS buyers either came from competing brands or didn’t trade in a car. One-fifth of buyers were under the age of 35.
The ATS is a solid performer in the luxury sport sedan segment – sales numbers aside. The sedan has 50/50 weight distribution, rides on GM’s Magnetic Ride Control, and is available with all-wheel-drive. Power comes from three different engine options: a 2.5-liter inline four, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four, or the 3.6-liter V-6.
Both four cylinders offer upwards of 30 mpg highway and the 3.6-liter V-6 churns out 321 hp and 274 lb-ft or torque. Prices start at $33,095 for the 2.5-liter.
