The “other guys” at General Motors are currently on a roll. Within the next 12 months, both GMC and Buick are looking to bring to this world nine new models. Each vehicle will either be significantly refreshed or all-new entirely. Coming along with the “freshmen” will be a wealth of innovative technologies and luxurious items to boot. The first fruits of labor will be available later this fall with the 2013 Lambda Acadia and Enclave SUVs while later down the road, the all-new Sierra will finally show its face.
Following the launch of the full size SUVs, the “Rob” to the Enclave’s “Big” will hit the streets. Buick’s Encore crossover will start at $24,950 and arrive early in 2013. Soon after, a revamped Buick Regal and LaCrosse will land which means that by the end of 2013, the oldest commercial Buick will be the compact Verano sedan. In GMC’s stable, the Sierra and its house pulling brother HD will debut followed by the Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs. As if GM was one to rest, the truck division will unveil one more workhorse but this one will be a bit different.
While we continue to make strong progress in fuel economy gains on our full-size trucks, we know that there is a group of customers who want the functionality of a truck but may not need full-size pickup,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick and GMC Marketing. “We believe that introducing a new, agile and efficient mid-size Canyon will meet the needs of many pickup buyers.” The all-new Canyon, will be GMC’s next midsize pickup that will surely come in all types of shapes and configurations. To be greatly derived from the global truck that debuted last year, the U.S.-spec version will have plenty of time to make sure everything is just right. An official release date has yet to be made official.
