The newest M3 to hit the market will set you back $80,000. Ouch. But, it may be worth it. Only 20 will be produced! BMW named it the Frozen Black Edition for good reason. It is hard to overlook the matte black paint job, and of course black shoes with red brakes. Oh, don’t be fooled by the outside, this new M3 packs a punch with a new transmission along with subtle touches that just may justify the price.
The same 4.0-liter, 414 hp V8 will be under the hood but all will be equipped with BMW’s Competition Package. This limited edition M3 will only be available with the M DCT dual-clutch transmission which knocks the 0-60 time down from 4.7 to 4.5 with a 8,400 redline. Winning!
Optional upgrades will include: heated seats, premium sound system, satellite radio, and the full and premium convenience packages. This matte bimmer will also have a much different interior. Starting with different leather (Novillo leather) with red stitching, other soft touches around the steering wheel and throughout the cabin. Don’t forget the M3 GTS wheels in matte black to match. Remember, only 20 of these will ever be produced, leaving 19 up for grabs to the public. June 16, 2011 at 11:30AM EST BMW will start taking orders and expect delivery by the end of June.
