BMW is known for their technological innovations in all areas of a vehicle including the lighting. Such things as high intensity HID headlamps, automatic interior lighting and adaptive headlights have all found their way onto a BMW vehicle. Recently, the German company has made another lighting innovation called “Dynamic Light Spot”.
The safety system ‘locates’ pedestrians and other hazards and as fast as it can, directs a beam of light right at the object. It can also subdue the outward lighting when a vehicle is approaching from the opposite end to reduce ‘blinding’. The “Dynamic Light Spot” should illuminate objects such as pedestrians or animals and aware the driver of the objects. Hopefully, the system will go about its business in an unobtrusive fashion just like the adaptive headlight operation.
