Bentley has announced that they’ve managed to squeeze a few more ponies and twist out of the Continental GT Speed, and to celebrate they are releasing a special new Black Edition, If you’re going to buy a killer car, you might as well murder it out too.
A simple bump to boost pressure has produced another seven horsepower along with 13 lb-ft more torque out of the W12 engine found in the fastest Bentley currently available.
Visually we have glossy, blacked-out chrome bits like window surrounds, exterior trim, lamp bezels and 21” black wheels on the exterior. If that’s too much black for you, you can opt for a choice of four different contrasting colors on the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser. If you’re feeling really excited by the colored bits and want to add even more flash, you can even have the mirrors color matched. It sounds like an easy way to ruin a car, but the gray and yellow combination Bentley has here in their press photos actually pretty sharp.
Not to be outdone on the outward presentation, the driver’s office is available with matching colors splashed all over the cockpit. Bentley will sew you up a set of quilted seats, door inserts and console trimmed in accents of Porpoise, Beluga, Pillar Box Red or Cyber Yellow to go with all that carbon fiber so you can remind yourself what your car looks like to others while driving.
Bentley claims these new styling cues are “subtle but purposeful”. I’m thinking that remains to be seen.
If you want one, Bentley is taking orders now with delivers coming in the summer.
