Take a ground pounding stock Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Add a new intake and trick Capristo exhaust, then fiddle around in its brain to try and extract some extra stuff. Wrap it in red satin vinyl and give it a name like Black Booty Monster. What do you think you get?
In the case of BBM Motorsport in Germany, you get a silly, somewhat pornographic name, 50 more ponies and 30 extra lb-ft of torque. End yield is 700 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers don’t look as pretty as the statistical alliteration of the stock Z06’s 650/650, but who can argue with more power?
What you also get, other than the tune and exhaust, is a trick-looking set of 19 or 20-inch Ultraleggera wheels, a front spoiler in carbon flash metallic – bare carbon fiber is an upcharge – and a howl emanating from the back of the car that sounds like a banshee escaping from Hell.
It may not be a 1,000 horsepower Hennessey Performance beast, but for the 15,000 Euro price it’s a pretty good deal, even if I can’t bring myself to say the name Black Booty Monster out loud without giggling.
Side note: I strongly discourage doing a Google search for the car by its given name at work.
