For the 16th year in a row, the automotive marketing and consultation experts at AutoPacific put forth their Vehicle Satisfaction Survey. Earning its fifth major award in 2012 and taking top honors in the compact pickup truck category, the Nissan Frontier was recently recognized by both AutoPacific and the American public. With an approximate pooling of more than 75,000 U.S. auto owners, a Vehicle Satisfaction Award is only given to a vehicle whose drivers are utterly content with each attribute a specific segment holder contains.
The Frontier, Nissan’s bread-and-butter workhorse, has stayed true to its roots that were conceived decades ago. With so many configurations to choose from, the compact pickup can be made into a gas-saving commuter, a premium concrete cruiser or a stump pulling, mud-slinging play thing. Not only that, but with the recent AutoPacific Satisfaction Award, any new Frontier owner can rest assured knowing their truck will last the test of time. A total of 48 attributes concerning new vehicles are rated by the owners themselves so that AutoPacific can dig below the surface to find solid winners.
“Consumer purchases are often influenced by objective awards especially when they are based on consumer sentiment. It was our goal to get the input from as many consumers as possible because ultimately, it’s the consumer’s opinion that counts,” said George Peterson, president of AutoPacific. This most recent accolade joins four other awards given to the Frontier in 2012 alone. Most recently, the pickup was named “Least Expensive to Insure” as well as landing first in the midsize pickup category at the Texas Auto Writers Association’s Truck Rodeo.
