Audi’s supercar, the R8 comes in two flavors: the V8 and the V10. For the most part, the much higher output V10 model takes center stage but Audi still hasn’t forgotten its more affordable V8. To celebrate their recent win at Le Mans, Audi has released a special Limited Edition package specifically for the V8 R8. This unique model still shows that no matter what engine is behind the driver of an R8, the ride will truly be special.
Using the same architecture as all R8s, the V8 Limited Edition features exclusive exterior bits and some items inspired and borrowed from the R8 GT. The 19 inch wheels and massive brakes are designed as a ‘tip-of-the hat’ to the GT. The paint is Limited Edition only and features a titanium-effect finish and the interior is a beautifully crafted red and black leather. Underneath, all the standard equipment available to the R8 V8 will find their way on to the Limited Edition as well as the 420 horsepower, direct injected high revving V8. Both the six speed manual and six speed R tronic automatic will be available.
Pricing for the Audi R8 V8 Limited Edition will start at £93,935. There is no dollar sign on that figure because this model is for the United Kingdom only. Just a scant 100 Limited Editions will be made and delivery will begin in October 2011.
