Production for Audi’s compact SUV, the Q3 has officially begun. The smallest Audi SUV will be built along side SEATs at their Martorell, Spain assembly factory. Audi expects to produce about 100,000 Q3s a year. The first year powertrains will include two TFSI petrol inline four cylinders, one with 140 horsepower and another with 211 horsepower. There will also be a TDI diesel and Audi’s quattro all wheel drive will be available.
“A big thank you to all the employees who have been involved in the Q3 project over the past years,” says SEAT Board Member for Production Wolfram Thomas. “The new model is another example of the trust that the Volkswagen Group and Audi AG in particular have placed in SEAT.”
Advanced sales in Europe will begin in June with a full market launch later this year.
