Behold, in all its magnificence, the newest addition to the Aston Martin family, the Vanquish. The label as last used in 2008 on the V12 Vanquish before the DBS took over as the top model in the AML range. For the newest car, the V12 moniker is gone, but its cylinder count remains. This new sultry machine packs the tried and true 6.0-liter V12 we have come to know and love. The VH architecture remains as well, though it has been heavily revised and stiffened. Like almost all Astons for the last few decades, styling is evolutionary, but this rendition of the classic shape is the most stunning yet. It takes the oft recycled shape and creates a new exciting visual appearance that is instantly recognizable, but eminently better looking.
The freshest face from Gaydon takes many cues from the One-77 supercar, but translates them into a shape that is much more organic and less…awkward. To keep performance high and emissions low, every body panel on the new car is carbon fiber. The V12 engine has been tweaked yet again and power has been boosted to an astronomical 565 horsepower making it the most powerful Aston to date (limited run One-77 aside). The transmission is the Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic found in the new Vantage S. Currently, there is no three-pedal option, which is more than unfortunate. For our money, one of Aston’s most impressive features was selling a V12 GT car with a true clutch-pedal manual.
