It is reported that Alfa Romeo is coming back to USA, according to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Most of the dealers won’t get the Italian sports cars, The Detroit News reports.
The Fiat Chrysler CEO said that Alfa’s return to America will begin the model Alfa Romeo 4C which will go on sale at the company’s Maserati dealership by the end of June.
Rick Deneau said that Fiat dealers who will get the Alfa Romeo this year have not been notified by the company.
An owner of two Fiat-stores Michael Golling hopers that he will be one of the lucky ones to get the car. Golling has been disappointed in the past.
In 1910 the Alfa Romeo was founded and quickly established a reputation. The great depression almost destroyed the company.
The Italian marque starred as Dustin Hoffman’s ride in 1967 in a film called “The Graduate”.
There has been a delay in stores. A handful of ultra-expensive 8cs were sold to the Maserati dealerships. Fiat was willing to take the bankrupted Chrysler in 2009.
“It doesn’t matter how many they sell. What they need the 4C to do is attract attention,” said Stephanie Brinley of IHS Automotive. “It needs to make a statement.”
This statement had to be followed up fast with the Alfa Romeo lineup, she said.
It is predicted that Alfa as a whole would be able to sell 28,000 vehicles in 2016. “The car is absolutely gorgeous and I would love to sell it” said Golling.
