Here's a holiday gift package for someone whose true love wants more than two turtledoves and a partridge in a pear tree.
Fletcher Jones Motorcars in Newport Beach has assembled what it calls the “ultimate holiday gift package” this season: his and her Maybachs and a stay at the nearby Island Hotel.
“Each holiday season, our sales spike as generous holiday shoppers purchase new vehicles for their loved ones. This new package simply ups the ante,” said Garth Blumenthal, Fletcher Jones' general manager.
The hotel package part of the “ante” is two nights in the Island's 2,000-square-foot Presidential Suite, a dinner for two and rejuvenation treatments at the five-diamond resort's spa.
But most of the pot is the pair of Maybach 57s, powered by twin-turbo V12 engines, outfitted with hand-finished wood trim, leather upholstery and panoramic glass roofs. The cars' seats come with built-in massagers. The DVD-based entertainment systems have 21 speakers.
Each year, fewer than 500 Maybachs are commissioned and delivered worldwide. In addition to being the world's biggest Mercedes-Benz dealer, Blumenthal said, Fletcher Jones is the world's No. 1 Maybach dealer, selling an average of two a month. Four Maybachs are now in stock, available in black, silver or two tones of silver.
“You can definitely have it under the tree,” Blumenthal said.
Price: $700,000 for the two-car-hotel package.
