Hyundai has been pushing deeper and deeper into German territory over the last few years. The first Genesis sedan looked to move the band upmarket challenging names like BMW and Mercedes, but it fell a bit short. After that we got the Equus that looked to tackle even larger and more luxurious German cars, but it too felt like it needed more work. Now for 2015, Hyundai has taken everything it learned from the first Genesis and the Equus to create a new car that is the brand’s best chance to win over luxury buyers. This is the all-new 2015 Hyundai Genesis, and it might just be the best car that Hyundai currently makes.

Visually, the second-generation Genesis is miles ahead of its older sibling. The new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language brings a cleaner and more modern feel to the car. The upright grille and creased headlights with LED accents work perfectly with the new square profile. Around back, the taillights have an interesting internal element design, and the dual exhaust add a sporty flair. The 18-inch alloy wheels, winged Genesis badge and various silver highlights make the exterior look more luxurious than the price would suggest. Of course the 2015 Genesis needs more than a pretty face to succeed in this market.
