It was three years ago when Land Rover unveiled the concept version of the Evoque Convertible at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. At this year’s Geneva event, Land Rover has taken the stage to announce that this stunning drop-top SUV will be hitting production.
Land Rover didn’t have much more to say, but the details are easy to figure out. Take a standard Evoque, cut off the roof, and put it on sale. It should use the same turbocharged 2.0-liter found in the current car, and sales should start early next year.
To celebrate the vent Land Rover released a fancy video of the new open-top SUV getting some off-road testing in a system of underground tunnels under London. The British company is promising more details will be release later this year. As always, keep your eyes here on AutoTalk to catch all the news as it happens.
