Tesla Motors plans to build its Gigafactory in Nevada, USA Today reported, citing a source who asked not to be identified.
It is expected that the deal will be announced on September 4 in Nevada’s capitol, Carson City.
Tesla teamed up with Japan’s Panasonic, and plans to spend $4 billion-$5 billion on the project and employ up to 6,500.
The plant will be used to make advanced batteries that are expected to power Tesla’s next generation of electric cars.
