Hyundai Motor issued two recalls covering nearly 889,000 Hyundai Sonata cars because they may roll away after being parked or may have braking issues, reports The Detroit News.

The Korean automaker is recalling 883,000 2011-14 Sonatas built from December 2009 through May. According to the carmaker, the shift cable can become disconnected, which can prevent the car from being shifted out of park or the vehicle can roll after parking.

Hyundai has received 1,171 warranty claims relating to the Sonata shift cable becoming disconnected. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair the connection between the shift cable and shift lever, free of charge.

In addition, Hyundai is calling back 5,650 2015 Sonatas because one or both of the front brake calipers may crack, reducing braking effectiveness and lengthening the distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
