Tobias Moers becomes CEO of Mercedes-AMG

Daimler AG said its board of management has appointed Tobias Moers as chief executive officer (CEO) of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, effective October 1, 2013.

Moers succeeds Ola Källenius, who will become the new head of sales & marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Moers and has been active for Mercedes-AMG since 1994, where he first worked in various development positions. In 1999, he assumed overall responsibility for the main AMG model series.

Moers has been in charge of complete automobile development since 2002 and has been a member of the executive board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH since 2011.

Källenius replaces Dr. Joachim Schmidt, who will retire at the end of this year.
