The SRT Viper team is returning to the 24 Hours of Le Mans this June for the first time since 2000.
The team is preparing two identical SRT Viper GTS-R cars for the 24-hour endurance race set at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France.
“Racing is a cornerstone of Viper’s illustrious history,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO of SRT in a company press release. “Le Mans is a world stage. The GTS-R has enjoyed great success at Le Mans in the past and we’re excited to start a new chapter of Viper racing at that historic venue.”
The illustrious history Gilles refers to includes the Viper’s three consecutive victories at Le Mans from 1998-2000 as both Vipers in the SRT team placed in one-two finishing positions.
