We would never call the SLS AMG slow, under powered, or quiet. With that being said, we have no qualms with AMG thinking that they should turn things up a notch or two.
The 2014 SLS AMG Black Series takes cues from the GT3 racer and applies them to a road-going model with great affect. The new car weighs less than the base SLS by 154 pounds, and power output has been bumped up to 622 horsepower. With the increased power and reduced wight the SLS Black manages a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 196 miles per hour. We also project a new-to-destroyed tire time of about 3.5 minutes with a heavy right foot.
The aggressive body kit features lots of carbon fiber and should help to increase downforce around your favorite track. While we like the new looks, we are most interested to what this car sounds like under foot. The base AMG has one of the greatest exhaust barks available today, and we can only imagine the new Black Series is going to up the ante. Keep your eyes here for footage when we find it.
