The 2013 Nissan Altima is a seriously competitive sedan. What was once left to the shadows of the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord is now a heavy hitting fighter in the midsize sedan segment. Nissan is so confident in their latest generation’s abilities that they recently issued some austere bragging by claiming to be the most cost-efficent midsizer on one rather farfetched trip. If one was to “drive” to Mars, the Altima would make the journey for less than its competitors.
Earth and Mars are 352 million miles apart. Given that the average gallon of regular gasoline in the U.S. goes for $3.645, the 2013 Altima would make the best of its 38 mpg highway rating. With its best-in-class mileage, the Nissan would make the trip for just $33,764,211 which is $2,894,075 less than the 2012 Toyota Camry and $7,624,176 less than the 2012 VW Passat. If that weren’t incentive enough to pack up your things and drive, the Altima with its NASA-inspired front seats would surely stay comfortable for eons.
