For the second year in a row, Chrysler LLC’s hot-rod division, Street and Racing Technology (SRT), will be going on tour across the nation. Across the next three months, the entire line up of SRT’d vehicles will travel to more than 30 stops for demonstrations and showcases. With the cars and trucks will be four full-time drivers to answer any questions and assist in ride-and-drive events. Any attendee will be able to not only see and experience the likes of the fantastic Dodge Charger SRT8 and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, but they’ll also get to witness what happens with technology meets honest, old school hot-rod soul.
“For the second summer in a row, we’ll be taking our SRT vehicles directly to thousands of performance fans and loyalists across the country,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand. The tour starts July 6 at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and will end at the Viper Owner Invitational in Charlotte, North Carolina in late september. Each stop will not just showcase the SRT vehicles as museum pieces as each example will get used and then driven to the next event. Some of them will even work harder than the rest as the 470 horsepower Grand Cherokee will be given the task of towing portable video screens along the way.
