So far, the all-new, 2012 Volkswagen Passat has been an overall success as it has earned a number of awards and return solid sales. This is excellent news for the car’s home in Chattanooga, Tennessee but it also means that production is at capacity. Currently, 31 midsize sedans are being put out by the factory and it isn’t enough to meet demand. In order to bump manufacturing numbers up to the 35 per day now needed, VW is looking to hire.
“We have had good success hiring local people who can work together as a team to build our cars safely and with the highest quality,” said Hans-Herbert Jagla, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations. The plan is to hire new employees and create 200 new jobs. All of the positions will be full-time and will help in the production process of the current two-shift operations. Aerotek, VW’s staffing partner, will help in the recruitment process and VW will make sure that each individual will have what it takes to build one of the most iconic Volkswagens of all. “Now, we are excited to have 200 more people join our team.”
