For the fourth year in a row, Subaru of America is putting together its annual “Share The Love” event. Starting November 19 and running through January 3, every new Subaru vehicle bought or leased will be joined by a $250 donation to a charity. For this year’s event, the company has decided to mix things up a bit by using social media to help determine the charity of choice. Starting now, the public is able to vote between four charities on Subaru’s Facebook page so that the “Share The Love” event can continue to help.
Since its birth, the “Share The Love” event has earned almost $15 million for charities. For the first year, Facebook fans can now make their selection for which charity they believe is the most deserving. The four are: Teach for America, The American Red Cross, The Children’s Miracle Network, and The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Voting will run through September 15 and for the first 200,000 votes, Subaru will donate 10 cents per vote to the receiving charity. So even if one doesn’t win outright, it will still receive a donation.
“We are pleased to offer this opportunity to Subaru’s online community,” said Brian Johnson, National Advertising Manager for Subaru of America, Inc. “This lets our customers get directly involved with our partners and allows them to have a say in who Subaru partners with in this year’s event.”
